Abstract

This research analyzes the existence and sustainability of the Mambunibuni Barter Market, Fakfak Regency, West Papua, which is one of the few traditional markets with a barter system that is still running in Indonesia in the midst of globalization that continues to emerge. Barter activities at the Mambunibuni market are carried out every Saturday morning by involving traders from coastal areas and mountainous areas who exchange marine products with agricultural products. This barter market is based on agreements with ancestors who promise to meet again for an exchange. This barter market has economic, tolerance, social, and cultural values that will continue to be maintained for generations.
