- Abstract
One of the first professors of the Saratov Conservatory was L.M. Rudolf, a talented composer and musicologist, a student of S.I. Taneyev. His active pedagogical, researching, musical and social activities laid the groundwork for the development of the professional musical education in Saratov. He taught several generations of gifted musicians of different specialties, formed the core principles for the work of the music theory and composition department. His scientific and pedagogical works – for instance “The Manual for the Analysis of Musical forms”, “Harmony textbook”– are of great interest. Many prominent musician were L.M. Rudolf’s students, such as Russian composers and musicologists Y.V. Kochurov, V.V. Pushkov, K.Y. Listov, Y.S. Soloduho I.V. Sposobin, S.B. Maksimov, A.N. Dmitriev, V.P. Shokin, S.I. Levit, L.L. Kristiansen, I.A. Tyutmanov, Y.K. Evdokimov, Azerbaijan composers К. Karayev, Z. Gadzhibekov, T. Kuliyev, S. Rustamov and many others.
