Proceedings of the 1st International Conference on Applied Economics and Social Science (ICAESS 2019)
The 1st International Conference on Applied Economics and Social Science 2019 (ICAESS 2019) held in industrial city, Batam, Indonesia. Batam is strategically located within an international shipping route between the Indian and the Pacific Ocean. It lies only 20 kilometers to the Southeast of Singapore, which has one of the busiest seaports in the world. ICAESS 2019 is hosted by Politeknik Negeri Batam, and held in October 2019.
ICAESS 2019 aim is to showcase research applications conducted by researchers. The research gap between academia and industry, which has been a major challenge, was addressed during the conference. Further implementation of presented research to scientific development was also the outcome of this conference. ICAESS 2019 focuses on applications mainly covering the topics and the multi-disciplines of economics, management and social science. Some researchers, academics, industrial partners, students, and practitioners attended to take part in development and innovation in the area of vocational studies and applied research.
ICAESS 2019 has the theme "Toward Industry 4.0" which has featured plenary speakers, regular papers, special session papers, and posters. This conference has built an excellent platform where more than 200 participants met to exchange ideas. During the conference, researchers presented the latest research results in the fields of economics, management, and social sciences, as well as established networking for possible joint research and collaborations among the participants.
The editors would like to thank all participants who have contributed to the ICAESS 2019 proceeding, which is a selected collection of 66 papers. We also express our gratitude to peer reviewers for their efforts to improve the quality of papers that provided constructive critical comments; improvements and corrections to the authors. We are very grateful to all staff Politeknik Negeri Batam, all committees, and student volunteers who have selflessly contributed to the success of this conference.
