Fatigue Life Analysis of One Hybrid Bus Frame Based on Road Spectrum

Abstract

To verify the fatigue life of a hybrid bus frame, the finite element model of the frame is built, and the equivalent stress distribution of the frame was got. Multi-body dynamics vehicle model was built in ADAMS/Car. The simulation analysis was conducted based on the road spectrum compiled by MATLAB to simulate C level road model. The load time history of each connection point of the frame was obtained. Combined with the dynamic load analysis and the results of finite element analysis, the fatigue life of the frame is calculated by combing the material S-N curve. Finally, the frame was evaluated comprehensively according to the strength,stiffness,and cumulative fatigue usage. The results could provide a theoretical basis for future optimization.
