Abstract

Composition and main material of seawater cooling systems of power units are stated briefly. Some corrosion and protection examples of seawater cooling systems are summaried. In order to protect overall seawater cooling system, the suitable material should be chosen firstly, and surface treatment such as coating or lining and cathodic protection should be done well secondly. In order to protect seawater cycling cooling system, beyond that, protection of the seawater cycling cooling tower and biocide treatment of the seawater cycling cooling system should be done well, too. In addition, rubber ball cleaning should be done well, the seawater cycling cooling system, especially the inner surface of condenser pipes should be kept clean.
