Abstract

The technique of smooth connections between quartic Bézier curves with shape parameters and cubic H- Bézier curves is investigated. Based on a study of their basis functions, endpoint properties and shape analysis, the continuous connection conditions between quartic Bézier curves with shape parameters and cubic H- Bézier curves are presented. Experimental examples show that using the technique of smooth connections between these curves, we can take the advantages of these curves sufficiently and solve the problems of complex curves and surfaces modeling better.
