The 2026 2nd International Conference on Engineering Management and Safety Engineering (EMSE 2026) was successfully held from March 20 to 22, 2026, in Chengdu, China. The conference attracted 93 participants from academia, industry, and public sectors, providing a dynamic forum for interdisciplinary exchange on engineering management, safety engineering, and applied system research. EMSE 2026 fostered collaboration and knowledge sharing among scholars, practitioners, and policymakers, highlighting both theoretical advances and practical innovations.

EMSE 2026 featured three distinguished keynote speakers whose presentations greatly enriched the conference discussions. Prof. Jingxiao Zhang from Chang'an University, China, presented on "Major Project Digital Intelligence Platform Embedded in Suspension: Theoretical Evolution, Analytical Framework and Future Prospects." Prof. Yibin Ao from Chengdu University of Technology, China, discussed the development of construction management and interdisciplinary research. Lect. Yuanyuan Lei from Southwest Petroleum University, China, delivered a talk on "Dynamic Response Collaborative Decision-Making for Emergency Rescue of Major Railway Projects in China." In addition to the keynotes, oral presentations provided diverse perspectives and case studies, enabling participants to engage in rigorous discussion and interdisciplinary dialogue.

The conference addressed a wide spectrum of research topics reflecting the breadth of engineering management and safety engineering. Discussions encompassed urban resources and environmental management, intelligent buildings, sustainable development, and digitalization of urban infrastructure. In smart manufacturing and technology management, participants explored industrial internet applications, digital twins, lifecycle management, knowledge transfer, and AI-driven optimization in engineering projects. Project and risk management, quality control, logistics, team management, systems integration, and multi-factor risk assessment were also emphasized. Safety engineering sessions included structural analysis, safety monitoring, emerging technology applications, accident case studies, regulatory compliance, operational safety of mechatronic equipment, industrial robotics, and safety assessment of new energy systems. Together, these topics demonstrated EMSE 2026's commitment to connecting theoretical research with practical solutions.

A total of 72 submissions were received, of which 16 papers were accepted following rigorous peer review, ensuring the quality and relevance of the contributions. The combination of keynote lectures, oral presentations, and interactive discussions highlighted the academic rigor and practical significance of the conference, establishing EMSE 2026 as a leading platform for scholarship and innovation in engineering management and safety engineering.
