Abstract

Based on the wind data from 1981 to 2017 of seven national stations along the coast of Hebei Province, the distribution of annual maximum wind and the extreme wind of each station were established by using the Generalized Extreme Value distribution model, and the corresponding wind speeds for different return periods were calculated. By using the continuous wind data of eight coastal stations from 2016 to 2017, the probability density distribution function of wind speeds at each station and the occurrence probability of wind speeds at different levels were obtained through statistical analysis. The results show that the annual maximum wind of each station with return periods of 2 years, 10 years, 20 years, 50 years and 100 years were 13.6m/s, 17.1m/s, 18.2m/s, 19.4m/s and 20.3 m/s respectively. But that of the annual extreme wind speed were 22.3m/s, 27.6m/s, 29.4m/s, 31.6m/s and 33.2m/s .The annual extreme wind speed appeared most frequently in April, March and June. For 10-minute average wind speed, the highest probability of occurrence was level 2, followed by level 3, their sum can reach 62% , and the maximum value of speed can reach level 10. The extreme wind speed has the highest probability of occurrence at level 4 and level 3 that the sum was 51%, and the maximum extreme speed reached level 12.
