Abstract

This article systematically explores the multidimensional impact of deglobalization on China’s social welfare system, focusing on the structural impact of the global anti-globalization trend on the employment market. Through a literature review and policy analysis, it argues that trade protectionism, industrial chain reshoring, and technological decoupling have promoted the deglobalization trend. Through trade contraction, technological decoupling, and the restructuring of regional cooperation, it exacerbates skills mismatch, regional imbalances, and intergenerational divides in China’s and the global labor market. In China, the process of industrial restructuring presents challenges such as a disconnect between the education system and market demand, uneven development between coastal and inland regions, and a mismatch between job supply and demand in emerging industries. Based on this, the article proposes strengthening the resilience and inclusiveness of the social welfare system and addressing the external risks posed by deglobalization by adhering to multilateral trade, promoting reforms in education and social training, and strengthening coordination of employment policies.
