- Abstract
The article considers the cultural concept of the middle ages. J. Huizinga and its influence on modern music medieval studies. The main attention is paid to the problem of the nature of creative consciousness, the self-value of the culture of «joy, love, the «juicy maturity» of a full «human life», reflected in the types and forms of medieval art, which in many ways prepared the Renaissance of Northern Europe.
