Conference: Proceedings of the Borobudur Conference on Public Administration (BCPA 2025)
Date: 20-23 October 2025
Location: Magelang, Indonesia (Hybrid)
Website: https://bcpa.untidar.web.id/ We proudly present the scientific papers resulting from the 6th Borobudur Conference on Public Administration (BCPA 2025) that was held by the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, Universitas Tidar, from October 20 to 23, 2025. Under the theme "Democracy and Society in Global South Perspective," this annual hybrid conference invited participation both online and onsite at Balkondes Kembang Limus, Borobudur. It was attended by scientists and researchers, who seek new challenges and opportunities for public administration in the Global South. There was an intensive and extensive exchange of ideas on a wide variety of the Global South's interrelated topics like human resource development, digital and collaborative governance, bureaucratic reform, sustainable development, political economy, international security, media and democracy, and public policy innovation. These debates illustrate our shared effort to comprehend the various evolving aspects of governance from perspectives that are occasionally neglected in global academic discussions. We would like to thank the distinguished speakers whose invaluable insights came from Prof. Ashutosh Kumar from Banaras Hindu University, India; Max Lane, Ph.D., from ISEAS–Yusof Ishak Institute, Singapore; Prof. Gabriel Lele from Universitas Gadjah Mada, Indonesia; Prof. Hartuti Purnaweni from Universitas Diponegoro, Indonesia; and Dr. Enjat Munajat from Universitas Padjadjaran, Indonesia. During the conference, they played a major role in the discussion in terms of both breadth and diversity on various issues in public administration, as well as social and political science. Lastly, we also thank and appreciate session chairs, editors, reviewers, participants, committees, lecturers, and students, as well as all those who have supported this conference. Their productive ideas, undoubtedly commitment, and tirelessly support have actualized BCPA 2025 and contributed to its success. We look forward to this event being a continuous source of scholarly dialogue and policy innovations, not only in Indonesia but also on the global stage. Natta Sanjaya
