International scientific and practical conference "AgroSMART - Smart solutions for agriculture" (AgroSMART 2018)
The committee and organizers are pleased to introduce the proceedings of the International Conference on Smart Solutions for Agriculture (Agro-SMART 2018). The annual event hosted by Northern Trans-Ural State Agricultural University took place on the 16-20th of July 2018 in Tyumen, Russia.
The goal of the conference was to promote sustainable agriculture, novel veterinary solutions, and competitive education for agricultural professionals in Russia and other countries of the Commonwealth of Independent States through science and innovations. This goal is based on the conditions in which the villages of the region are struggling to enhance the agricultural sector and make it both globally competitive and environment-friendly. We are of the opinion that the only possible way to achieve this goal is to implement new policies, technologies and state-of-the-art solutions as applied to farm and livestock production, rural economy and agricultural education. Agro-SMART 2018 is dedicated to the discussion of these topics.
The conference aims: 1) to provide opportunities to lecturers and researchers throughout Russia and CIS countries to publish their research at the international level; 2) to discuss technological advances and cutting-edge management solutions, related to agriculture, and prospects of their implementation; 3) to share with the world academic community open access information about actual state of agriculture in Russia, and specifically in Trans-Urals and Siberia.
Scientists and practitioners in Russia and abroad submitted over three hundred manuscripts. All the papers were peer-reviewed by two reviewers. As a result, almost two hundred of them were selected for publication.
Finally, we would like to express our deep appreciation and gratitude to all the members of the Agro-SMART 2018 Scientific Committee for their strenuous efforts. Without their assistance and dedication, it would be impossible to hold the discussion at such a high level and to collect quality papers for compiling the conference proceedings. We also appreciate the assistance of Atlantis Press in producing the volume of the collected papers. In the end, we wish to extend appreciation to all the authors for their outstanding contributions to this valuable volume.
