Abstract

This article is motivated by researchers’ anxiety in terms of decreasing the nation’s character in high school students in Karawang Regency in order to face the challenges of the revolution industry 4.0. In the era of the revolution industry 4.0 where technology and information developed so fast, so that Pancasila and Civic Education as character education are needed in the school environment so that after students complete their education have a good character and able to engage with the global citizens in the era of revolution industry 4.0. The character emphasized in this article are hard work, discipline, and responsibility. This article aims to describe Pancasila and Civic Education in strengthening the national character of high school students in Karawang Regency in order to face the challenges of the industrial revolution 4.0. The approach used in this study is quantitative with survey and correlational methods. The process of collecting data uses surveys or questionnaires. Stages of data analysis include tabulation of research data, normality test, correlation test and hypothesis test. The results of the research found were significantly, Pancasila and Civic Education was able to strengthen the national character of high school students in Karawang Regency. Generally, character education is not only the responsibility of the school, but also the commitment of all levels of Indonesian society to help realize the character education itself. The recommendation of this article is that the school as an educational institution is able to provide support to the learning of Pancasila and Civic Education so that teachers and students are able to implement it optimally.
