Abstract

This study aims to reveal the meaning of silih asih, silih asah, silih asih in the mixing of Chinese culture and Sundanese culture in the city of Bandung. Silih asih, silih asah and silih asuh is the life guidance of the Sundanese in communicating, which aims to create harmony with the surrounding environment without releasing their own identity. Social life in the city of Bandung cannot be separated from the cultural background of each unique perpetrators. Two of the different cultures are Chinese and Sundanese culture. Through qualitative research method, this research found that the expression of silih asih, silih asah and silih asuh, became the driving force for the integration of Chinese culture with Sundanese culture. Specifically, it becomes the basis of daily behavior for individual informants.
