Abstract

The synthesis of (R)-3-((4-methoxybenzyl)oxy)butanal, which is an intermediate of (-)-Allosedridine, a 2-substituted piperidine alkaloid, was described, The route started from (R)-methyl 3-hydroxybutanoate via a PMB protection, a LiAlH4 reduction and a Swern oxidation.
