Since its inception, Atlantis Press has continued to attract a global and experienced team of Publishers from different backgrounds. Most of these Publishers joined the company with several years experience from one or more of the major academic publishing houses in the industry. Please meet our publishing team below.
Arjen Sevenster

Arjen Sevenster

Arjen Sevenster is a long-standing member of the Atlantis Press publishing team with more than 30 years of experience in the publishing industry. He studied mathematics at Leiden University in the Netherlands and after a five-year stay in Japan returned to The Netherlands where he joined the industry-leading scientific publisher Elsevier. For about two decades at Elsevier, Arjen was the Publisher responsible for the mathematics and computer science programme which included a number of world-class journals and book series. He retired from Elsevier in 2006 and joined Atlantis Press as a Senior Publisher in charge of the company's books programme in mathematics and theoretical computer science which has produced more than 100 books to date.

Debora Woinke

Debora Woinke

Debora Woinke is the Junior Publisher for the Atlantis Press proprietary journals portfolio. After obtaining a degree in Art History, Debora graduated in Sciences and Technologies of Information and Communication at the Free University of Brussels in Belgium. Since then she has been working as a freelance translator, copy editor and IT advisor, and in 2017 she founded a small publishing company specialized in art books. Debora joined Atlantis Press in 2016 where she initially managed the production of proceedings and books and was also responsible for indexation, archiving and setting up communication strategies for new publishing projects. She started in her current role as Junior Publisher for journals in early 2018.

Shalimar Shadeed

Shalimar Shadeed

Shalimar Shadeed is Senior Publisher for the Atlantis Press third-party journals portfolio with a special focus on publishing services and publishing consultancy to societies and institutional journal owners. She is also the company's subject matter expert on all aspects related to publishing ethics, journals development and indexation. Shalimar holds a Bachelor's degree in Biotechnology and Genetic Engineering and a Master's degree in Applied Biological Sciences / Immunology and Stem Cells from the Jordan University of Science and Technology. After her studies she joined industry-leading publishing house Elsevier in 2012 as a Publishing Support Manager for their Partnership Publishing group. Here she managed a portfolio of society journals in Europe, Middle East & Africa and also became heavily involved in community outreach activities (presenting at conferences, author workshops, etc.). Her extensive outreach work earned her a promotion to Senior Publishing Support Manager at the end of 2016, by which time she had also taken responsibility for Elsevier's ENSTINET portfolio of journals published in cooperation with the Egyptian Ministry of Higher Education & State Ministry of Scientific Research. Shalimar left Elsevier in April 2018 and joined Atlantis Press in her current role shortly thereafter. Besides her activities in publishing, she is also the co-founder and Business Development Manager of data science start-up company Delphi Data Analytics.

Ran Dang

Ran Dang

Ran Dang is Junior Publisher and Promotion Manager for the Atlantis Press proceedings portfolio with a particular focus on the development of proceedings series in China. Ran holds a Bachelor's degree in Animal Science from Henan Agricultural University in Zhengzhou, China; a Master's degree in Biological Technologies and Engineering from Ningbo University in Ningbo, China; and a Master in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from Zhejiang University in Zhejiang, China. Prior to joining Atlantis Press, her experience in academic publishing spanned a total of six years in various roles, including Managing Editor & Section Leader at MDPI, Publishing Support Manager at Elsevier and Project/General Manager for MLS Journals. Ran joined Atlantis Press in her current position in September 2018 and besides focusing on developing the company's proceedings series in China will also play a local supporting role for the expansion of the Atlantis Press footprint in China across all product portfolios, including journals and books.
